Marion remains atop SI Football Coaches Poll, Benton slides after loss at Nashville

The Marion Wildcats remain the team to beat in Southern Illinois but they are no longer the unanimous #1 team in this week’s coaches poll.

The Nashville Hornets garnered a first place vote after a 42-28 win over Benton.

Both Cahokia and Mt. Carmel climbed in to the top 5 thanks to slides from Benton and Fairfield – despite the Mules 23-13 win at Harrisburg in a game that was scheduled on Thursday last week.

Johnston City’s 12-6 win over CZR finally put the Tribe in the Top 10 for the first time this season.
