WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) — A small, single engine plane was forced to make an emergency landing Wednesday night on Interstate 57 in Williamson.
The 1959 Cessna 175 Skylark took off from Veterans Airport just before 8:30 p.m. The plane soon lost engine power and was forced to land in the median of Interstate 57, near milepost 47, minutes later.
No injuries were reported. The plane sustained minimal damage.
One northbound lane of Interstate 57 was closed for about twenty minutes while the plane was removed from the scene.
