MURPHYSBORO, Ill. (WJPF) — Former Murphysboro Mayor Chris Grissom has passed away.
Grissom died unexpectedly Sunday. Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
When elected Murpysboro Mayor in 1997, Grissom was the first Republican elected to the position in 100 years. Grissom served one term, which ended in 2001
Grissom was also active in the Jackson County Republuican Party, including serving as it’s chairman.
