CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — SIU has put on hold their scheduled May commencement exercises in response to the Coronavirus Pandemic.
The decision to scrap the ceremonies does not mean students will not graduate. Qualified students will have their degrees mailed to them.
University leaders are considering alternatives like a virtual graduation ceremony or holding the ceremony at a future date.
