Mommy tucks me in and says “Good night, sleep tight. Don’t let the bed bugs bite!” It was my favorite when she would lightly pinch me and I would giggle as she turned out the light and I peacefully drifted off without a worry in sight. What a sweet childhood memory!
I was well into adulthood before I made the connection that bed bugs were real. They are scarier than the monster under your bed and right now, they are too close to home for many.
Marion High School is closed today after the discovery of bed bugs in a number classrooms. As word spread yesterday, students were running for the hills as parents turned in on three wheels to get kids out of the building in fear of exposure to the bed bugs.
The school is being treated for the little devils before it will reopen. I feel terrible for anyone who is dealing with this right now. I cannot imagine!
