Chester Bridge to close due to floodwater

CHESTER, IL. (WJPF) – The Missouri Department of Transportation says they anticipate rising floodwater to force the closure of the Chester Bridge at noon Saturday, June 1.

It’s due to high water threatening to cover the approach to the bridge on the Missouri side of the Mississippi River.

It was previously thought that the bridge would just be reduced to one lane, but it appears that will no longer be the case.
