Marion man sentenced on weapons charge

JACKSON COUNTY, IL. (WJPF) – A Marion man has been sentenced to three years behind bars on a weapons charge.

29-year-old Travis Taylor was accused by prosecutors in Jackson County of being the driver of the getaway car in an October 2017 home robbery.

Taylor led police on a high speed chase though Murphysboro and threw a gun from the window of the speeding car. Taylor had prior felony convictions and was no longer allowed to possess a firearm.

The other suspect in the case, Edward Willis, is currently serving a one year prison stint for criminal trespass.
