A two person assessment team from the National Weather Service will be on the ground Wednesday in Williamson, Saline, and White Counties, assessing storm damage.
The heavy rains and high winds moved into the area late Tuesday afternoon. The worst of it starting near Carterville and travelling northeast though Energy, and then on into Saline County where property and homes were damaged near Galatia.
A number of tornado warnings were issued before and during the storm, however the National Weather Service has not yet confirmed a tornado on the ground.
