ENERGY, Ill. (WJPF) – The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal home explosion in Energy.
On August 4 at 7:08pm, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a residential explosion in the 100 block of West McGinnis Street.
The preliminary investigation has resulted in the discovery of a significant blast radius resulting in one fatality. Their identity has not been released pending notification of family.
The sheriff’s office is working alongside the Illinois State Fire Marshal to determine the cause and origin of the explosion.
