Carbondale man convicted of selling crack cocaine

 

MURPHYSBORO, Ill. (WJPF) – A Carbondale man has been found guilty of selling illegal drugs.

Jeffrey Chism, 36, was convicted for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.

In January 2020, officers with the Southern Illinois Drug Task Force and the Illinois State Police raided a home in Carbondale and found Chism in possession of 3.6 grams of crack cocaine that was already packaged for resale, related drug paraphernalia, and a large amount of cash.

Chism was sentenced to 14 years in the department of corrections.
