Illinois State Police are investigating an alleged homicide in Alexander County.
ISP’s Division of Criminal Investigation was requested after the sheriff’s department discovered the body of 61-year-old Stanley Mech along Route 3. Mech was found deceased inside his vehicle from apparent gunshot wounds.
