CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — An 18-year-old SIU Freshman has been identified as the victim of a fatal shooting in Carbondale.

Three other people were injured when the shots rang out at about 3:10 Sunday morning at an off-campus house party located at 501 West Cherry Street.

Carbondale Police say officers attempted to administer life-saving first aid to KeeShanna Jackson, but she was later pronounced dead at SIH Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. While officers were at the hospital with Jackson, three other victims of the same shooting came into the emergency room with non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

A memorial service was held Sunday night for Jackson on the SIU campus.

No arrests have yet been announced. The investigation is ongoing.
