Governor signs laws to help seniors

Four new state laws are designed to further protect Illinois seniors.

One law extends the sale of the lottery’s Alzheimer’s scratch-off ticket which raises money for awareness and care. Another lets seniors take an online defensive driving course and another ensures that residents of long term care facilities can speak virtually with family during a public health emergency.

The fourth requires health care professionals who deal with adults to have at least one hour of training in recognizing the signs of Alzheimer’s disease.
