Changes planned for Ft. Massac State Park

METROPOLIS, Ill. (WJPF) — A $200,000 state grant will bring changes to Fort Massac State Park.

At a press conference Monday, State Senator Dale Fowler and the organization Friends of Fort Massac announced the planned demolition of the Laidlaw Building within the park. In its place, they hope to construct a replica historic village depicting life in the 1800s.

Construction is expected to start no later than this fall.
