VALIER, Ill. (WJPF) — Longtime Valier Village President Martin Buchanan has died.
Buchanan’s death was announced Wednesday.
Buchanan was one of the longest continually serving municipality leaders in Illinois state history, following closely behind former Marion Mayor Bob Butler.
Buchanan also taught in the Sesser-Valier school district for more than thirty years.
