Carbondale resident stops burglary in progress

CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — A Centralia man has been arrested after he was caught committing a burglary in Carbondale.

Carbondale Police responded to a home on South Maple Street around 9:00 PM Wednesday after they received a report of a burglary in progress.

When police arrived, they found the resident detaining the suspect inside the home.

Police say the resident heard 20-year-old William Farnam inside the home, detained him, and called the police.

Farman was taken to the Jackson County Jail.
