FRANKLIN COUNTY, IL. (WJPF) — Authorities in Franklin County are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found near Zeigler.
The woman was found unresponsive Saturday morning in area west of town by people riding an all-terrain vehicle. She was later pronounced dead at the Herrin Hospital. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday afternoon.
Investigators say they have identified the victim, but are not releasing the name until notification of the family.
Investigators do say that the victim is not Lauren Pree, who’s been missing from West Frankfort since September.
