SPINGFIELD, IL. (WJPF) – Lawmakers had to evacuate the Illinois State Capitol Thursday after a bomb threat.
A caller claimed there was a bomb on one the upper floors of the capitol. The third and fourth floors, where lawmakers work, were evacuated.
The bomb squad was called in. No explosive was found. Lawmakers and their staff were back to work within about an hour.
