Bost optimistic about avoiding government shutdown

Congressman Mike Bost (R)

The deadline for a deal to the keep the federal government running is fast approaching.

Wednesday on The Morning Newswatch, Congressman Mike Bost was optimistic saying “we’re busy trying to get through – and believe we’re going to – we’re going to pass a CR that will stop a government shutdown once again.”

Bost admits though any deal would just be kicking the can down the road, “I believe the CR that we’re working on should last through February 16. That would allow the president to get to the State of the Union speech.”

The deadline for any deal is Friday at midnight.
