Carbondale business robbed by suspects wearing Halloween masks

Carbondale Police were called to the scene of another armed robbery involving two suspects wearing Halloween style masks early Friday morning.

It happened just after 12:30 AM in the 1900 block of South Illinois Avenue.

Similar to hold-ups in the past, the pair walked in, displayed a handgun, demanded cash, and then fled.

No one was hurt.

Friday’s armed robbery is the latest in a string of similar robberies in both Carbondale and Herrin.

The two police departments are offering a $3,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the people responsible.
