Vehicle with bomb-making materials found in Harrisburg medical center parking lot

HARRISBURG, IL. — A vehicle containing bomb-making materials was found in the Harrisburg Medical Center parking lot.

The materials were found Saturday, no one was hurt.

Authorities say the vehicle belonged to 63-year-old Patrick Ohern, of Crown Point, Indiana. He was involved in a minor traffic crash on Friday and taken to the medical center for treatment.

On Saturday, Ohern began making threats and it was decided to tow his vehicle from the medical center parking lot. During a search, Saline County Deputies found the bomb-making material and even an item that appeared to be a pipe bomb.

The Secretary of State Police Bomb Squad was called in to remove the items.

The investigations is ongoing.
