One person is dead and one is seriously injured after a shooting in Carbondale.
It happened just before 11:30 PM Thursday in the 400 Block of East Mill Street.
According to news release from Carbondale Police, when officers arrived on the scene they discovered one victim with fatal wounds, another with life-threatening injuries.
The injured victim was then involved in a traffic crash at the intersection of West Main Street and North Illinois Avenue while en route to a hospital for treatment.
The news release says the victim was taken to a St Louis hospital.
The names of the victims have not yet been released.
No suspect information was available.
